Portable electronic system for the monitoring of blood pressure and a method for measuring the same and transmitting data for the follow-up of hypertense patients, useful for determining the blood pressure levels and the heart rhythm generated by a pressure sensor that monitors the pressure in a bracelet located in the forearm of the user in order to generate voltage signals; said signals are processed and stored in a SD memory card, once the information of the measurement is stored, a communication with a remote device having Bluetooth protocol is established for sending the measurement information in a wireless manner, when the remote device receives the information, a new connection is established with the remote centre of medical supply through a GPRS where a record of the measurements of each patient is carried out; in case an anomaly is detected in the blood pressure or heart rhythm levels, an alarm would be sent to the physician, patient or the emergency services, depending on the alarm degree, this system may provide a higher control and monitoring over hypertense patients.
