PURPOSE: A thermal viscometer is provided to measure the viscosity of fluid flowing along the sensing part placed in an upright position by thermally sensing changes in the thickness of the fluid according to time. CONSTITUTION: A thermal viscometer comprises a vertical substrate, a sensing part(30), a signal generator(40), a lock-in amplifier(50), and a controller(80). The sensing part is formed in the vertical substrate to heat a fluid layer formed along the substrate and detect the temperature of the fluid layer. The signal generator is connected to the sensing part and supplies heating frequency of AC current. The lock-in amplifier measures a temperature signal from a voltage signal of the sensing part. The controller is connected to the lock-in amplifier.
