FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, single energy X-ray densitometry. During X-ray examination of a patient, a digital data file is created in the form of a discrete set of coordinate values and proper signal amplitudes from X-ray sensitive detector cells. Data are displayed on a monitor in the form of an X-ray image; a range of interest including a bone tissue with an adjacent soft tissue is selected. The signal amplitudes in this range show values of X-ray logarithmic attenuation which for each point of the file is described as a relation logarithm of the signal from the detector cell not closed from an X-ray source by the patient to the signal from the cell recording X-ray passing through the patient in the given point. The derived values are used to exclude a soft tissue from an examination region by a preset algorithm as a shadow support of the image of a bone tissue, then with using rules common in X-ray absorptiometry, bone weight reduced to an area unit is calculated. ^ EFFECT: method allows adequate measurement of bone mineral and volume density. ^ 1 dwg |
