Disclosed is a kinetic media payload of a weapon system which uses kinetic media to intercept a target, the payload being suitable for launching into space by a vehicle. The kinetic media payload comprises kinetic media which is at least partially surrounded by foam which decomposes in the presence of high energy electromagnetic radiation.
