Disclosed are substituted-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-3-benzazepine compounds of formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, hydrate and solvate thereof, wherein the substituents are as defined in the specification and their use as modulators of 5HT2C receptors. Also disclosed is their use for the prophylaxis or treatment of 5HT2C receptor associated diseases such as disorders of the central nervous system, damage to the central nervous system, cardiovascular disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, diabetes insipidus or sleep apnea.
