The invention relates to geodesic and meteorological measurements, implementation of high-accuracy geometric leveling and determination of vertical refraction (refraction index of atmosphere) in surface layer of atmosphere. In the method for determination of vertical refraction one performs measurement of position of scale of rod by means of level with horizontal sight ray, this at short distance is not refracted in atmosphere, with reflection of same scale in straight vertical flat mirror reflector that is installed at long line of observation (leveling), and by difference of readings obtained for two images of scale one calculates coefficient of vertical refraction. In the method proposed one determines coefficient of vertical refraction, this makes it possible to increase accuracy of geometric leveling due to exclusion from results of measurements of effect of vertical refraction. |
