A foot rest (11) for each seating position (14) on a chair lift chair (1) is disclosed. The foot rest (11) is attached by a support bar (12) to a protective bar (2), which extends across the entire seat (1) and can be pivoted from an open position to a closed position. In the closed position of the protective bar (2) the supporting bar (12) extends down in the central region in front of each seating position (14) so that each has an associated central footrest (11).
