<p>A liquid rotavirus immunogenic composition suitable for oral administration to a human infant, comprising a rotavirus antigen, a sugar and a carboxylate. The composition has a pH of between pH 5.0 and pH 8.0 and comprises less than 1 mM phosphate and the carboxylate is derived from a dicarboxylic acid with a pKa > 4. Suitable carboxylates are adipate, malate, succinate, malonate, glutarate, maleate, fumarate and tartarate. The composition is used as a vaccine for infants to prevent or treat gastroenteritis.</p> |
