Improvements in corrugating rollers

A roller for use in corrugating cardboard in a non-heated process is constructed substantially from materials having a density that is less than that of steel and includes a corrugated contact surface 32 about the outer face of the roller. A passageway 35 extends between opposite ends of the roller and forms a conduit for ambient temperature air under the influence of a vacuum source to flow from the contact corrugated surface of the roller to the passageway through the roller. The roller may be constructed as the plurality of discs 36 stacked on the roller axle 33.
