PURPOSE: A man-powered bicycle with reinforced climbing capability is provided to smoothly rotate pedals on a slope by using the torque of a motor powered by a battery. CONSTITUTION: A man-powered bicycle with reinforced climbing capability comprises pedals(18), a crank shaft(19), a drive sprocket(20), a rear wheel sprocket(21), a crank-shaft angle sensing unit(30), a control unit(40), a motor(50), and a backing prevention unit. The drive sprocket is rotated with the rotation of the crank shaft and the pedals. The rear wheel sprocket is fixed to a rear axle. The drive sprocket and the rear wheel sprocket are connected through a chain. The driving force of the bicycle is created by the rotation of a rear wheel(14) connected to the pedal. A magnet is attached to a side of the crank shaft of the pedals. The control unit is operated according to the output of the crank-shaft angle sensing unit. The motor is driven with the control unit. The backing prevention unit is installed in the hollow shaft of a rear wheel. |
