PURPOSE: An air conditioner is provided to defrost from the upper and lower parts of an outdoor heat exchange unit while performing a heating operation and to defrost from the central part of the outdoor heat exchange unit using the hot gas, which flows through a connecting pipe. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner comprises an outdoor heat exchange unit(42), a first refrigerant distributor(44), a second refrigerant distributor(46) and a connecting pipe. The outdoor heat exchange unit comprises a plurality of refrigerant tubes and heat-exchanges outdoor air with refrigerant. The first refrigerant distributor comprises branch pipes(44a,44b,44c,44d,44e,44f,44g), which are connected to an upper refrigerant tube. The second refrigerant distributor comprises branch pipes(46a,46b,46c,46d,46e,46f,46g), which are connected to a lower refrigerant tube. The connecting pipe connects one of the branch pipes of the first refrigerant distributor to one of the branch pipes of the second refrigerant distributor. |
