<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of expressing a highly entertaining game device. <P>SOLUTION: The game device 10 includes: an image processing unit 66 for displaying a game field including a land with a height difference and a first character arranged in the game field on a screen; an inclination control unit 42 for controlling the inclination angle of a ground surface where the first character is grounded on the basis of operation input for inclining the ground surface; a rolling control unit 53 or a sliding control unit 54 for moving the first character so that the first character rolls or slides on the ground surface when the inclination angle of the ground surface is larger than a predetermined value; a communication unit 32 for acquiring, from the game device of another player, information indicating the position in the game field of a second character of a game played on the game device; and an opposite character display unit 56 for displaying the second character on the screen.
