<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an image forming system that prevent toner soil caused by a shock or inertia applied immediately after the start and stop of conveyance in high speed printing. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a conveying means for conveying paper; an image carrier for forming an image from a toner on its surface; and a transfer unit disposed opposite to the image carrier and provided to apply a bias current having polarity reverse to the toner to the paper conveyed by the conveying means. For a first predetermined period before and after the stopping of the conveyance of the paper by the conveying means, the transfer unit applies a bias current having polarity the same as that of the toner to the paper conveyed by the conveying means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
