PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device achieved by an alternative means of a large-sized electromechanical switch and a solid state switch. SOLUTION: The device such as a switch structure 100 is achieved, and this device includes a contact 102 and a cantilever 104 of a conductor element. The cantilever 104 of the conductor element is selectively movable between a contactless position where the cantilever 104 of the conductor element is separated from the contact 102 only by a distance of about 4μm or less in some cases and only by a distance of about 1μm or less in the other cases and a contact position where the cantilever 104 of the conductor element comes into contact with the contact 102 to establish electrical communication with the contact 102. When the cantilever 104 of the conductor element is arranged at the contactless position, the contact 102 and the cantilever 104 of the conductor element are constituted so as to maintain an electric field having a magnitude exceeding 320 Vμm-1 between them and/or a potential difference of about 330 V or more.
