PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a device and a program for processing an image which improve convenience of a user when photographs are read by a scanner to create an album. SOLUTION: A plurality of types layout data used for layout edition are stored in a memory; a plurality of images arranged on a document table are read at a time; a plurality of image data representing the plurality images are generated; positions of the plurality of images on the document table are detected; layout data having a plurality of image frames laid out at positions nearest to the positions of the plurality of images on the document table out of the plurality of types of layout data are selected; and the plurality of image data are laid out using the selected layout data to generate image data for one page of a recording medium.
