PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembly tool capable of easily performing an edge processing, on an edge of the optical fiber, such as removing a clad and cutting a corner section of a fiber edge face; and to provide an assembly method of an optical connector, and an optical connector. SOLUTION: Marring for removing the clad is performed by contacting the edge section of the optical fiber 1 to a marring section 23, while sliding the edge section of the optical fiber 1 to an optical connector 10 side along with a guide plate 22 of the assembly tool 20. Thereafter, the optical fiber 1 is inserted into the optical connector 10 from the guide groove 22a, and the clad 1b of the optical fiber 1 is removed at a clad removing section of the optical connector 10 by insertion force of the optical fiber 1. Thus, marring is easily performed on the edge section of the optical fiber 1, and the optical fiber 1 is easily inserted into the optical connector 10, by sliding the edge section of the optical fiber 1 to the connector body 11 side along with the guide plate 22 of the assembly tool 20.
