PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image capturing apparatus capable of efficiently recording an image by effectively utilizing limited capacity of a memory. SOLUTION: The image capturing apparatus includes: an imaging unit 11; a buffer memory 13; and a data amount reduction part 19a. The imaging unit 11 repeatedly images a subject image to acquire a plurality of image data. The buffer memory 13 records the image data. The data amount reduction part 19a reduces data amounts of the plurality of image data recorded in the buffer memory 13 according to time elapse from specific timing while the subject image is repeatedly imaged by the imaging unit 11.
