<p>Disclosed is a method comprising: transmitting ultrasonic waves into the sea from an ultrasonic wave transceiver (2) provided in a buoy (1); receiving ultrasonic waves transmitted from three (3) transponders disposed on the sea floor, along with time signals; detecting the distance between each transponder (3) and the ultrasonic wave transceiver (2) on the basis of the one way propagation time of ultrasonic waves; performing bypass filter processing on such distance data, thereby extracting short period fluctuation components; setting up, for each sound wave relay, a set of linear equations in three unknowns such that these fluctuation components are equal to expressions where displacements in the three-dimensional coordinate axes of the ultrasonic wave transceiver (2) are included as unknowns; and solving the aforementioned set of linear equations in three unknowns, thereby obtaining the sea wave height, which is the displacement in the direction of the height.</p> |
