PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical sheet capable of improving defect shieldability without lowering display brightness, and to provide a die used for manufacturing the optical sheet, and a method for manufacturing the optical sheet that uses the die, concerning the optical sheet used for a backlight, or the like, in a liquid crystal device. SOLUTION: The optical sheet is for making a light entering the incident surface inside propagate, and emit the light from an emission surface includes: a prism pattern including a plurality of prism rows formed on the incident surface; and a plurality of projections which are nano-order projections, provided over the whole surface or a part of a surface forming the prism pattern. Although the light entering the optical sheet is scattered by the fine nano-order projections, accompanying luminance is hardly lowered and shieldability is improved, because the size of the projections is of very fine nano-order.
