<p>Method of virus culture characterized by using as host cells a line of pig kidney cells, isolated and kept at the Biological Institute, sao Paula, under the number IB-RS-2, grown in monolayers and adapted to growth in suspension. The cells are used for prpn. of vaccines and for diagnostic uses. They may be used for the virus of aphthous fever to give a vaccine with good protective effect in pigs and cattle. Newcastle disease virus and para-influenza viruses also grow well on IB-RS-2 cells. There is no sensitization of animals in which the vaccines are used.</p> |
