The present invention relates to a method and a device for transmitting event data to a display unit and/or a data processing unit that can be connected thereto, wherein as event data both image sequences for displaying images of an event, particularly in the form of a TV image, and supplemental data for optical or acoustic display of additional information with respect to the event are transmitted from a transmitting device to the aforementioned display unit and/or the data processing unit that can be connected thereto. The invention provides that the event data is divided up, and is transmitted via several transmission channels having varying band widths, wherein at least part of the image sequences are transmitted via at least one transmission channel having a higher bandwidth, and at least part of the supplemental data are transmitted via at least one transmission channel having a lower bandwidth. In summary, as a result of splitting, that is, distributing the event data to be transmitted to various transmission channels, transmission channels of smaller band width can be used, and can be made better use of. |
