The present invention discloses a method and a system for multiplexing channel measurement pilots from different cells. The method includes: orthogonalizing channel measurement pilots from different cells in time and/or frequency domain and multiplexing the orthogonal channel measurement pilots. By the invention, using the design of orthogonalizing Channel State Information-Reference Signals (CSI-RS) from different cells can satisfy the requirements of Coordinate Multipoint Transmission and Reception (COMP) measuring channels from different cells. Moreover, accuracy of actual channel estimation is retained because of using orthogonalization in time and frequency domain. Furthermore, retaining the orthogonalization of CSI-RS from different cells in time domain benefits from using the subframe offset at sending locations in time domain, and retaining the orthogonalization of CSI-RS from different cells in frequency domain benefits from using the subcarrier offset at sending locations in frequency domain.
