Disclosed is a refrigerator which employs carbon dioxide as a refrigerant and can exhibit a high performance coefficient without increasing the compression ratio even during the high temperatures of summer. Heat is dissipated from high-pressure carbon dioxide gas compressed by means of a compressor (11) to external air in a fourth heat exchanger (121), and then an aqueous ethanol solution cooled by means of a low-pressure evaporative cooler (2) is subjected to heat exchange in a first heat exchanger (122), thereby making it possible for the refrigerator to exhibit a high performance coefficient without increasing the compression ratio even during the high temperatures of summer. Furthermore, in the low-pressure evaporative cooler (2), the aqueous ethanol solution is cooled by promoting evaporation of the ethanol component in a reduced pressure vessel (212) in which the pressure is reduced by a suction blower (221). The heat of the ethanol vapour sucked by the suction blower (221) is dissipated to external air through a condensing vessel (222) and a third heat exchanger (232).
|
