PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a label subjected to superposition sticking in which two labels are superposed on each other and the upper label is easily attached and released.

SOLUTION: The tape printer is equipped with: a ROM 41 being a format data storage means which stores first format data and second format data; a format selecting means which selects the desired first format data and/or second format data; a data input means which inputs first data such as characters and symbols printed to a first printing tape and/or second data such as characters and symbols printed to a second printing tape; and a control part 40 which forms a first label and/or a second label by printing the first data and/or the second data to the first printing tape and/or the second printing tape. The control part 40 executes printing of the second label by detecting that the second printing tape is a tape applied with an adhesive of a weak adhesiveness or a self-adhesive tape.
