<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium identifying device, an identifying method, and an identifying program which ensures migration from medium identification to the next operation, and reduces the time for identification by preventing wrong medium identification due to a temperature change. <P>SOLUTION: The medium identifying device includes: laser light sources 33, 34, and 35 compatible with a BD, CD, and DVD; an objective lens 31 which condenses laser light; a photodetector 37 which converts reflected light to an electric signal; a disk identification part 58 which identifies the BD, CD, or DVD on the basis of the electric signal from the photodetector 37; a temperature sensor 4 which detects a temperature of an optical pickup 3; a setting storage part 51 which stores a range of the operation temperature of the BD; a temperature determination part 53 which determines whether the detected temperature is outside the range of the operation temperature; and a selection part 54 which, when the temperature is outside the range of the operation temperature, skips the identification of the BD to identify the CD. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
