<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology that achieves high-speed image processing for printing using a special gloss ink while allowing printing in consideration of characteristics of the special gloss ink. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing device is used for executing image processing to print image data ORG, constituted by pixels expressed by a plurality of element data, using a special gloss ink and a plurality of coloring inks. The device includes: a first dot-density determining part for calculating each dot-formation density of the plurality of coloring inks on the basis of the plurality of element data; an index-value determining part for calculating a single index value having a correlation in brightness of each pixel from the plurality of element data; and a second dot-density determining part for calculating the dot-formation density of the special gloss ink according to a relation, in which the dot-formation density of the special gloss ink in a region where the index value of each pixel is lower than a prescribed value is lower than the dot-formation density in a region where the index value is higher than the prescribed value, on the basis of the single index value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
