<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that includes a means for detecting not only discharging presence of drop droplets and presence of discharge bending but also a direction and an amount of discharge bending. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device includes: a droplet discharge means; a droplet discharge detection means for detecting a change in the received light amount of a light receiving element 130 when a detected beam 162 converted into sheet light intersects a droplet 150; an angle changing means for changing an angle between the longitudinal direction of the detected beam and the normal discharge direction 170 of the droplet, and a discharge state determination means for inclining the longitudinal plane of the detected beam to form a first angle with respect to a vertical surface, and then inclining the plane to form a second angle where negative and positive sides are different from those of the first angle by the angle changing means, performing the discharge detection operation by the droplet discharge detection means, and determining the discharge state of the droplet based on the result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
