<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanically operable display which includes a bi-stable mechanism and is mechanically driven at a low voltage for reduced electric power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to MEMS-based display devices. In particular, the display devices may include actuators having two mechanically compliant electrodes.
