PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clean foreign matters adhering on an inner surface of an discharge passage by automatically moving an operation member back and forth. SOLUTION: The float type drain trap includes: a lower float type drain trap A in which an inlet port 5, a valve chamber 4 and an outlet port 7 are formed of a body 1 and a lid 2, a discharge passage 8 for communicating the valve chamber 4 to the outlet port 7 side is formed at a lower part of the valve chamber 4, a float 11 for opening and closing the discharge passage 8 is arranged in the valve chamber 4, an operation member 16 which can operate to move forward and backward is arranged in the discharge passage 8 and a piston 15 as a pressure reaction member is connected with the operation member 16 and a pressure chamber 14 is formed at a back face of the piston 15; and an upper float type drain trap B in which an inlet port 25, a valve chamber 24 and an outlet port 27 are formed of a body 21 and a lid 22, a discharge passage 28 for communicating a valve chamber 24 with the outlet port 27 side is formed at a lower part of the valve chamber 24 and a float 31 for opening and closing the discharge passage 28 is arranged in the valve chamber 24.
