PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the vicinity of a track center even in an unrecorded area even while performing tracking servo by a DPD method using a code of a recording layer when an optical disk having a servo dedicated layer is reproduced. SOLUTION: The optical drive device includes: an optical disk having a recording layer and a servo dedicated layer; a tracking error signal generation part 61-1 for generating a tracking error signal TE<SB>R</SB>from the received light amount of a photodetector 5-1 for receiving reflected light of a recording layer optical beam; a tracking error signal generation part 61-2 for generating a tracking error signal TE<SB>S-P</SB>from the received light amount of a photodetector 5-2 for receiving reflected light of a servo dedicated layer optical beam; a tracking servo part 62; and a determination part 63 for detecting that the irradiation position of the recording layer optical beam is an unrecorded area of the recording layer. The tracking servo part 62 is switched to control based on the tracking error signal TE<SB>R</SB>to control based on the tracking error signal TE<SB>S-P</SB>according to the result of ongoing detection of the determination part 63.
