PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that preferential dubbing in recording quality is unable to perform, since there are conventionally only choices of "high speed" or "quiet sound" as a dubbing mode in a recorder apparatus for example, called as a DVD recorder or a BD recorder. SOLUTION: It is discriminated whether the predetermined prescribe data pattern is included in the speed instruction information or not in response to that speed instruction information for instructing recording speed of a recording part is received from a host side control part of the outside, based on the discrimination result, recording speed in which recording quality is preferred is set. Thereby, damping operation in which recording quality is preferred can be achieved, while a processing system is not largely changed from the conventional system, and increment of device manufacturing cost can be suppressed, by performing that setting instruction of recording speed of preferential recording quality for a drive side from a host side is performed depending on existence of the prescribed data pattern in the speed instruction information.
