PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of an image quality when zooming in an area predetermined as an imaging range and recording the area. SOLUTION: An optical zoom magnification is set to the maximum within a range where the entire imaging range can be imaged when zooming in the predetermined area as the imaging range. An electronic zoom keeps a zooming-in operation till the number of pixels of either vertical pixels or horizontal pixels within the imaging range matches the number of either vertical pixels or horizontal pixels to be recorded.
