The present invention relates to a light-emitting device and to a production method therefor. The light-emitting device comprises: i) a base plate; ii) a mask layer which is positioned on the base plate and has one or more openings; iii) a light-emitting structure which is formed on the mask surrounding the opening(s) and extends in a direction essentially perpendicular to the planar surface of the base plate; iv) a first electrode which makes face-to-face contact with the outer surface of the light-emitting structure and is formed on the mask layer; and v) a second electrode which is positioned inside the light-emitting structure and makes face-to-face contact with the inner surface of the light-emitting structure.
