PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CAM system for preparing software which can set up suitable reference points for moving in response to curvatures of moving tracks of a cutting tool, namely, arrangement of cutting locations (CL), and a control method for the cutting tool on the basis of such arrangement of the CL. SOLUTION: In the CAM system for preparing software, an independent approximate value at the preset CL2 is calculated on a cutting line for moving the tool, the magnitude of the approximate value of the curvature is divided into a plurality of stages, each group of the CL2 related to each stage is divided into a plurality of zones, and thus, the number of arrangement of the CL2 per unit length at a zone where its curvature is larger is enlarged corresponding to the number of the CL2 newly added to every divided zone.
