摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aromatic polycarbonate resin having high flowability. SOLUTION: The aromatic polycarbonate resin for optical materials is obtained by carbonate-bonding at least one compound selected from compounds represented by formula (1) to at least one compound selected from compounds represented by formula (2) with phosgene or a carbonic acid diester, wherein the molar fraction of the compound represented by formula (2) is 1 to 90% based on the total amount of the bisphenols. In the formulas, X is a single bond, oxygen atom, sulfur atom, sulfone group, a 2 to 10C alkylidene group, a 5 to 12C cycloalkylidene group, a 7 to 15C arylalkylidene group, fluorenylidene group orα,α,α',α'-tetramethylxylidene group.
