PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for removing an asbestos-containing building material, the device achieving labor saving and a shortened period of construction. SOLUTION: The device 1 for removing an asbestos-containing building material removes an asbestos-containing building material 12 in an elevator shaft 10. In addition, the device includes: an ascending and descending stand 20 which ascends and descends in the elevator shaft 10; an exfoliating device 30 for exfoliating the asbestos-containing building material 12; a moving device 40 which moves the exfoliating device 30, which is installed on the ascending and descending stand 20, to a prescribed position; and a control means 50 which remotely operates the ascending and descending stand 20, the exfoliating device 30, and the moving device 40.
