PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide chain reducing noise, vibration, wear and heat generation by improving surface roughness of sliding contact surfaces and reducing sliding resistance, preventing noise, vibration, wear, and heat generation by reducing pull-apart force required in start of sliding due to influence of meniscus force, and forming appropriate lubricating oil film between sliding contact surfaces. SOLUTION: In the chain 100 formed by fitting a plurality of chain component members in such a manner that the same can be bent and wound around a sprocket, at least one sliding contact surface 151 composing a sliding contact part formed between the plurality of chain component members includes a minute groove 152 reducing meniscus force.
