<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game device capable of reducing the variation of player's way of holding an operation unit. <P>SOLUTION: The game device (10) includes an operation unit in a longitudinal shape, for outputting data according to the movement or attitude of the operation unit itself, and performs a game on the basis of the data outputted from the operation unit. The operation unit includes a first button provided between the center of one surface along the longitudinal direction and one end in the longitudinal direction, and a second button provided between the center of one surface along the longitudinal direction and the other end in the longitudinal direction. Game processing performance means (50) performs game processing on the basis of the data outputted from the operation unit.
