<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector and a detecting switch capable of suitably detecting a state in which an electronic component such as a memory card to be inserted and pulled out, and also capable of materializing space saving for a mounting space. <P>SOLUTION: This card detecting switch 160A detects the state in which the memory card 20 is mounted in the storage part 102 of a housing 110 through an insertion opening 101. The card detecting switch 160A has a movable terminal 161 and a stationary terminal 162, and the movable terminal 161 has a card contact part 163a displaced by being pressed by the memory card 20 to be inserted, and a movable contact part 164a displaced in the same direction as the displacement direction of the card contact part 163a with the displacement of the card contact part 163a.
