PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Japanese garment designed so that a wearer always holds small items in free hands around her (his) body without carrying any accessory cases such as porches or fabric small bags when wearing the Japanese garment to be improved in convenience. SOLUTION: The Japanese garment 10 is characterized in that a pocket 12 is set up inside a sleeve 11, a put-in/out opening 14 of the pocket 12 is formed on one side of least both of a front sleeve 13 and a back sleeve 21, and the put-in/out opening 14 comprises a fastener 16 set up toward a diagonally downward direction at the outside from the side of an armhole 15. The pocket 12 is favorably attached to the sleeve 11 by sewing up one end 19 of an inside bag 18 to the front sleeve 13 and sewing up the other end 20 of the inside bag 18 to the back sleeve 21.
