The electronic household appliance (10) has a control unit (20) for controlling a function of the electronic household appliance, and has an actuating element (30). The actuating element is connected with the control unit in a monitored position for actuating the control unit. The actuating element is carried in multiple activity positions with the control unit in a common manner. The actuating element is mounted in a mounting position, where the mounting position is independent of the position of the control unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting an actuating element at a control unit of an electronic household appliance.
