<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spline telescopic shaft maintaining highly accurate fitting between an inner shaft and an outer shaft over a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: An intermediate shaft 5 includes the inner shaft 35 and cylindrical outer shaft 36 which are fitted to each other slidably in an axial direction. The outer spline 37 of the inner shaft 35 and the inner spline 38 of the outer shaft 36 are fitted to each other. A resin coating 39 is provided on at least a tooth surface 37a of the outer spline 37. The resin coating 39 is subjected to heat fitting processing for the tooth surface of the inner spline 38 of the outer shaft 36 with a zero or negative fitting clearance therebetween. A fitting clearance between the tooth surfaces 37, 38 of the inner and outer splines 37, 38 in the early stage of use can be made substantially zero (e.g., 10 μm or less), and an actual contact area between the tooth surfaces is widened. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
