AQUEOUS INK COMPOSITION, MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR COMPOSITE PARTICLE, INK SET, AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous ink composition with excellent ink stability and ejection stability, capable of restraining blocking generation in a recording medium with an image formed.

SOLUTION: The aqueous ink composition includes composite particles and a colorant. The composite particles are obtained by polymerization of a monomer constituting a second polymer in the presence of a polymer aqueous dispersion obtained by adding a water-soluble electrolyte selected from the group consisting of an acidic compound and a salt thereof to either a first polymer solution including a first polymer and a solvent for dissolving the first polymer or a first polymer dispersion prepared with the first polymer solution and water. The first polymer includes a hydrophilic constituent unit and a hydrophobic constituent unit. At least either the first polymer or the second polymer has a glass transition temperature of 120°C or higher.
