PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet developer comprising toner particles dispersed in a carrier liquid by use of a polymer dispersant, the developer exhibiting sufficient dispersion stability, charge retaining property and fixability with a smaller add amount of the polymer dispersant. SOLUTION: The polymer dispersant is a copolymer containing, as monomer structural units, at least a basic vinyl monomer (I) and an alkene (II) having a long-chain alkyl group or a long-chain alkylene group as a substituent. The carrier liquid is a low volatile solvent comprising a substituted or unsubstituted long-chain hydrocarbon. The toner particles contain a binder resin having a carboxyl group. When the number of carbon atoms of the long-chain alkyl group or long-chain alkylene group of the polymer dispersant and of the hydrocarbon of the carrier liquid are denoted by A and B, respectively, A/B ranges from 0.5 to 1.5.
