PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC motor having large starting torque and small cogging torque. SOLUTION: The motor 10 includes: a yoke 11 including a pair of circular arc side face sections 12 and a pair of connecting side face sections 13 for connecting both ends of the respective circular arc side face sections 12; a pair of magnets 21 each disposed inside the yoke 11; an armature rotor 31 disposed between the pair of magnets 21; and a rotating shaft 41 fixedly disposed at the center of the armature rotor 31. Each of the magnets 21 is composed of a body section 22 made of a hard magnetic material with a circular arc cross section so as to be disposed along an inner peripheral surface 12a at the circular arc side face section 12 of the yoke 11, and a pair of side edge sections 23 formed at both ends in a peripheral direction of the body section 22 and made of a soft magnetic material. Then, each of the side edge sections 23 is disposed at a position corresponding to a connection section 14, namely a boundary between the circular arc side face section 12 and the connection side face section 13.
