The transmission has a brake (03) and clutches (14, 16, 47, 58) that are engaged to produce different transmission ratios between drive and output shafts (1, 2). The drive shaft is connected with a bar of a first planetary gear set (P4). A shaft (5) is connected with an internal gear of a second planetary gear set (P1) and a bar of a third planetary gear set (P2). An internal gear of a fourth planetary gear set (P3) is coupled to a housing (G). The output shaft is detachably connected with another shaft (7), and the second planetary gear set is interlocked by closing one of the clutches.
