PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage measuring instrument for a plurality of battery packs, allowing an anomaly of an A/D converter to be determined with high accuracy while reducing its manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: This voltage measuring instrument 10 measures an output voltage of the plurality of battery packs wherein a plurality of unit cells are series-connected to output a desired voltage. This measuring instrument 10 has: an A/D converter 26 for digitizing an analog voltage signal detected by an IC for voltage detection; a reference power source 71 outputting a reference voltage Vf0 for A/D conversion to the A/D converter 26; first and second resistances R1 and R2 for generating a sample voltage Vf1; a register 29 for storing voltage data corresponding to the sample voltage Vf1; and a controller 27 for comparing digital voltages (Vf1-1) to (Vf1-5) with the voltage data to find differences therebetween, the sample voltage Vf1 digitized into the digital voltages (Vf1-1) to (Vf1-5) by the A/D converter 26, and determining that an anomaly has occurred in the A/D converter 26 if the differences are larger than a prescribed threshold.
