PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper detecting sensor in a simple construction, which detects a paper in a simple method, and to provide a detecting method. SOLUTION: The paper detecting sensor includes a photoresistor arranged in a paper detection area, and a means for detecting whether paper exists or not, in accordance with a change in the resistance of the photoresistor.
