An information management section (12) of an information management device (1) represents equipment as an object with the provided service or stored data in the device.  In addition, the information management section (12) transmits/receives objects by means of a communication section (23) and manages peripheral devices as modeled objects in the same way.  An equipment policy creating section (24) defines, as an equipment policy from the objects, what kind of equipment state is desirable when the peripheral environment is configured from what kind of a plurality of pieces of equipment and changes the setting of the information management device (1) according to the equipment policy.
