A method and a terminal for auxiliary carrier cell synchronization are disclosed, and the method comprises the following steps: after a terminal receives a command for activating an uplink auxiliary carrier from a serving node B, the terminal takes the current time as a reference, at the first time point after delayed based on the acquired offset time length of the auxiliary carrier activation process, performs the synchronization among the cells in the active set of enhanced dedicated channels of auxiliary carriers in a non-serving node B. The technical scheme reduces the delays and inter-cell interferences required by synchronization, and there is no influence on the cell capacity and coverage.
